Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice

This paperback version includes two fascinating notes from the author that describe her journey to faith in Jesus Christ.  The book itself, while wholly fiction, marvelously captures the cultural setting of Palestine during Jesus' boyhood.  Rice is known for her meticulous research and careful attention to detail.

What Jesus Demands from the World by John Piper

Piper writes with a passion for the glory of God and a love for Scripture.  Piper is one of my favorite authors and has been used greatly in my life by the Lord.  I am using this latest book in a devotional manner.  It is a study of what Jesus says in the Gospels and matches up well with our current sermon series in the Gospel of John.
